  1. Beautiful Nevada (typical) sunset Don! When I was 16, and my brother Dan was 11, my parents relocated our family from the lush, green forests of the Appalacian Mountains located in northern New Jersey, to the arid desert land of Reno, Nevada. At the time, it was a visual and cultural shock for me, but eventually I came to realize the “whys” of the relocation, and then the beauty of our desert, which I soon came to love passionately. Now, you have come and seen it too, and know the glorious pagentry that exists within its boundrys. Keep going Don, it only gets better.

  2. Hi Don – Looks like you are really ripping off the miles today! But, gee wiz, we leave you and in just one day it looks like you are going loco out there (based upon your blog picture). Maybe you miss Kirk & my unending talking (or perhaps our chatter finally took its toll on you and drove you over the edge)! Good luck and keep on trucking, Dude!

  3. A-A-H—So glad you’re in Austin. You did get there fast–the best to come is the beauty you will encounter running over the Austin Summit.

My brother Dan is rignt: you have been “ripping off the miles today.” Perhaps Dan and Kirk’s unending chatter cleared your head, or maybe, you just needed to drive yourself faster in quest of the sweet amber refreshment, since Kirk is not there to assist.
Anyway–the lovely part is coming up, so rest up and then go for it!!!!!!!!!!! Again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Hey Buddy – sorry I wasn’t there to remind you to turn on your GPS when you left Austin! I won’t be able to communicate the next few weeks after Tuesday, since I will not be near my computer for a while. So, I’ll wish you the best of luck now. Hope when I log on again in a couple of weeks, you are at or past the Rockies!
